The Best is Yet to Come | Couture Creations

Hiya Everyone.

I taking a journey back today using Bohemian Bouquet from Ultimate Crafts. I wanted to make a striking yellow and white card and Bohemian Bouquet has some pretty patterned papers in the colours I wanted.

Couture Creations has just released a new range of Hotfoil Stamps called Everyday Sentiments and I am showing one today.

Here is a look at the bits and pieces I have put together to create my card.

So to start I cut myself a 6x12" piece of the white Ultimate Craft cardstock and scored it at 6" to create my 6x6" card base. Next I cut one of my patterned papers to 5 3/4" square and distressed the edges before inking the edges with a matching yellow ink. I then selected a second patterned paper and cut it to 5 3/4" x 3" again distressing the edges and inking in yellow ink.

I die cut one of the Bohemian Bouquet Laced Petals dies in the Snow White cardstock. Again I inked the edged and then snipped it in half. Using the Vintage Matte Gold ink I hotfoiled the sentiment on an offcut of the Snow White cardstock, snipped in one long edge with scissors and then once again distressed the edges and inked them with the yellow ink.

Next I adhered them to the card base. And all that was left to do was embellish with my chosen flowers in a cluster, add the die cut and add the sentiment. My last finishing touch was adding some of the small gold pearls to the card.

Stop and Smell the Roses | Couture Creations

Good Morning Everyone,

Having pretty papers to play with makes creating so much easier. I love the C'est La Vie collection and am really enjoying doing layouts with the 12x12 paper pad. This latest one is of me with my gorgeous niece Sabine and some Snapchat fun :)

I decided for this layout that I needed to mute the patterned paper that I used to base my layout around. To do this I chose to use the Anna Griffin/Couture Creations Acrylic Gesso. I did a light coat to the paper and allowed it to dry.

This 2nd photo shows how much softer the paper looks.

I added some texture to the background using one of the Anna Griffin/Couture Creations stencils with the beautiful fluffy embossing paste. This embossing paste is my go to for adding texture to my pages. It is a beautiful white and more importantly it dries so quickly which is fantastic as it doesn't slow me down to much when I am on a roll with my creating.

Next I took a selection of patterned papers and transformed them in to banners of differing widths and lengths. I muted the edges with a matching pink ink.

Below is a rough placement of how I wanted the papers to look before I adhered them to the page.

I added a paper doily to the sides of banners to bring in some white to the page.

This really popped in the finished page. I also added a largish paper doily from my collection.

Once this was done I mounted my photo on to a soft green/blue Ultimate Crafts cardstock called Charming, again softening the edges with the pink ink and then just added a die cut (discontined) in the same green behind the photo (cut in half), overlapping the paper doily.

Once my photo was attached to the page, I added some bling and my flower cluster. The two butterflies at the top were fussy cut from one of the pieces of paper.

To finish it off I chose a chipboard title from the C'est La Vie collection, Stop and Smell the Roses. This one was hotfoiled using the Champagne coloured foil.

"Say Cheese" | Couture Creations

Hi Everyone,

With the end of 2017 coming to a close I thought I would revisit the THE RITZ

collection by Sue Smyth.

I wanted to aim for a more male orientated theme with this photo of my brother Mark and his son Thomas. The colourings in the photo fitted perfectly with the collection. I think I hit the

nail on the head, so to speak.

So, to start I chose the papers that I wanted to use with the photo, and cut the stripe at 6 1/2" along the horizontal and attached it with some double-sided tape on top of the other paper.

To hide the seam I cut a 1/2" strip of some of the Obsidian Ultimate Crafts Cardstock and attached it over the seam of the papers as shown in the next photo.

Taking the Art Deco Tag decorative die from the collection I cut two die-cuts. I then trimmed them down to two pieces shown below.

Working from the outside edges, left and right, towards the centre, I adhered the trimmed down die cuts. The two middle pieces will overlap but this will not matter as my photo and other embellishments will be placed over the overlapped die cuts.

From one of the papers in the back of the paper pad I cut one of the border strips and added it underneath the 1/2" piece of black cardstock that I had earlier adhered over the

seam of the patterned papers. Using the Classy Flower decorative die cut one in the Obsidian cardstock. I cut this in half and attached it to the top left of the page.

Using the Evening Cocktail 6x6" paper pad I took the gold stripe paper and die cut the

Next I chose 4 of the mini gears from the chipboard set and using the Champagne and Midnight Black heat activated foil applied it to the chipboard.

Using a couple of other matching papers from the "Theatre" patterned papers I created three banners, each mounted on to some of the black cardstock.

My photo was mounted on black (it already had a white mat around it when it was printed). I wrapped some white and black twine around the photo. Next I took the three banners I made and attached them around the bottom half of the photo.

I added a paper doily from my stash underneath the die cut Otis doily and attached it to the back of the mounted photo. I then adhered the entire piece to my page.

I added some bling from my stash and then placed the gears to the page.

I added clusters of flowers and other embellishments to the bottom left of the photo, added a title and it was finished. Not too girlie at all I don't think :)

"Don't be FOILED ..... it's nearly Christmas" | Ultimate Crafts

Hi Everyone, Anita back here on the blog with you today. Until the last couple of days I really have played heaps with my new Go Press and Foil machine from Couture Creations. I

really needed to start thinking of Christmas cards because I know some family and friends will want me to make some for them as well so I have been playing and really having fun.

Everything used in these two cards is from the new Ultimate Crafts range

It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas.

Card 1 - Merry Christmas

I really love using white and gold together so for Christmas I just had to do it.

This card I made using a 5x7" card base.

To start I embossed a piece of cardstock measuring 1/4" smaller all around than the card base.

Next I took a gold ink pad a lightly dragged it across the face of the embossed cardstock so it only coloured the raised portion of the cardstock. I also inked around the edges with the gold ink.

Using the gorgeous Snowflake die from the collection I die cut one full set of dies + a second one of the chunkier of the three dies. I used the beautiful lined gold Mirror Board from Couture Creations.

There are so so many gorgeous hotfoil stamps with collections and a couple of really pretty sentiments. For this card I used the Merry Christmas sentiment which I foiled using the Matte Gold foil on to some white smooth card.

I then trimmed it down and snipped in the edges. I then backed the sentiment on to

some more of the lined gold Mirror Board.

All the components were now complete and I then constructed the card. To finish I added a few

pieces of bling from my personal stash to the centres of the snowflakes.

Card 2 - Season's Greetings

So, do you know the saying 'Blue and Green should not be seen', well it was big when I was a young one in the 1970's, well I say BAH HUMBUG!!!! I love them together and chose this

combination for my second card.

I got a little carried away making this card and forgot to take a photo of the embossing of the white cardstock with the gorgeous Snowflake embossing folder.

I die cut two of the Holly Branch die from the collection and I decided I wanted to foil it.

I used several layers of card 'shim' on my Go Press and Foil machine but the centre still didn't take the foil as much I would have liked as you can see below.

So, I decided to put some of the Turbo Glue Pen glue to the portions that didn't take and

waited until it became tacky.

Once the glue was tacky I then took some of the Blue Green foil and dabbed it over the glue.

Below is how it turned out..... I loved it!!

Next using the Season's Greeting Candle Hotfoil stamp I stamped three images with the

Blue Green foil.

Next I took my Chameleon Pens and coloured in my candles.

They came out pretty okay with the ombre effect. I have to say I haven't had many

chances to use them so hopefully this is the start of some fun colouring in. I then

fussy cut the three candles.

Next I hotfoiled the sentiment Season's Greetings and again as in card 1, snipped in each side. This time I inked around the edges of the sentiment.

Sorry guys, I forgot to take a photo of that, but I am sure you will be able to visualise it..... and

you get to see it up close below anyway :)

I then constructed the card, adding a little bit of green bling to some of the embossed

snowflakes on the card.
