"STRONG" | Colour Blast

Hi Everyone

Now I love my Colour Blast products as much as you and with the large number of products in my collection I have been trying to use different colours on each of my posts.
Today I have used two of my all time favourite Colour Paste in Sienna and Leather. They are both extremely striking on the white background.
So after using a fun filter from Snapchat I ended up with the perfect photo for my layout. It's nice to play around once in a while.
After preparing my cardstock background with some Heavy White Gesso, using a baby wipe and two coordinating Colour Artist Inks in Rust and Cider I smooshed the Rust across the background and once dried added Cider.

I did this a couple of times to get the depth and colours that I wanted to tie in with the photo.

Next, using my metal spatula I stroked some of the Colour Paste
in Sienna and Leather down my page.  I wanted a very uneven look on the page.

Using the amazing Heavy White Gesso
I added more texture with a stencil ensuring some of the stencilling went over the Colour Paste

After selecting my chosen embellishments I decided I wanted to keep the vast majority of them white.  I found a heap of wood veneer flowers in my stash.  I 'attacked' them with my sponge and Heavy White Gesso trying to get a a bit of a stippled and roughish look to them.

I didn't quite the look I wanted, so I worked with a paint brush and the gesso and ended up happy with the final result.
Using the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker in Clear I added a slight bling to the wood flowers.  It ended up ever so subtle but took the matte affect off them. I did up adding some copper glitter to two of the flowers that you can see in the close up photos below.

I added by bling title, a couple of mulberry paper flowers and a few sticker phrases from Flutterby Designs and a cute sequin bow from D-lish Scraps and the layout was complete.

Thanks for stopping by.

Relax | D-lish Scraps

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would share with you my final creation as part of the D-lish Design Team.

So for my last share with you I decided it needed to be a puppy page.  I haven't done many lately, and since they are my babies, thought I would finally do one.

So, this page is all about my old boy Max.  He is now over 13 years old, and I know his days with us are becoming numbered (he is going blind and deaf and becoming riddled with arthritis), so I want to make sure I have his scrapbook album full so I can continue to enjoy the memories for years to come.

To start I decided I wanted a printed border around my page.  After choosing the patterned papers that I wanted to use, I took my white cardstock and trimmed 1" off my cardstock. I then stamped it with a stitched circle stamp.
I mounted my photo on some cardboard just to give it a bit of height from the page.  Behind it I added some more patterned papers and then one of the D-lish paper doilies.

Once I have layered my papers and photo I then just went to town on embellishing the page with heaps of goodies from the D-lish Scraps store.

I have used a whole heaps of D-lish goodies including some from previous 'Just Add Paper' kits.  Goodies include the cute little resin flowers, wood veneer title, washi tape and flair buttonI really love using the ombre wordfetti as they have words in different shades of the same colour palette.

I have little clusters all over the page.  They include everything from the cute little sequin bow, to wood veneer hearts, a tassel and paper flowers of all different styles and sizes.  To finish I added some of the enamel dots.

So for one final time Thanks for Looking.
I wish you all well on your crafting journeys.

Ciao for now.

Sunshiny Day | D-lish Scraps

Happy Weekend Everyone

I thought I would share with you my layout that appeared on the D-lish Scraps blog today. This is steadily becoming one of my favourite layouts of late.
So who were the lucky ones to get hold of the new FRESH CUTS Just Add Paper kit for February from D-lish Scraps  Oh my lordy it is stunning.  As soon as I got mine in the mail I just had use it for my next creation.
The gorgeous fresh citrus colours of yellow and lime would have to be my favourite colours of all time.  Be quick, there are still some available in the store.

To start I applied gesso to my white cardstock background and then used a bright yellow gelato and water, and of course my fingers to smoush it all together across the page. I dabbed off the excess moisture and then lightly dried it with my heat gun so the cardstock didn't curl and warp.

The Just Add Paper kit came with the cutest little flower stencil which I used with a snow white shimmery colour paste from Colour Blast

With all the gorgeous flowers in the kit and the wood veneer bicycle having a basket on the front I knew I just wanted my layout to look as though flowers were 'flying' out of the basket .  I used all the flowers in the kit and added an extra bright yellow rose and some forget-me-nots in yellow, green, white and one red on,

In the kit there are some really cute little bright yellow, green and white resin flowers in the kit.    I found some more in my D-lish stash of goodies so added some more to bulk up the flower cluster across the page.

I slipped one of the tags from the kit behind my mounted photo and added the lime doily behind it, added a sequin bow to the bottom corner and then used the three flair buttons to the bottom right cluster and the inside of the bike wheels.
Finally I added a title using the oh so cute puffy alphabet letters.

So, thank you so much for stopping by today and checking out my creation.

Don't forget to drop by The Scrap Suite Facebook page to see the new Cybercrop Challenges for February and some of the creations made by the Design Team.
Have a great and crafty week.

Bye for now.

This is Love

Hi Everyone,

Below is a layout I created recently and that appeared on the D-lish blog on the 3rd of November.  I am a lover of the monthly Just Add Paper kits so had heaps of fun playing with the kit for October.

If you are looking for some cute embellishments for your scrapbooking and cardmaking you should check out a local South Each Queensland business.  You can find everything you need at the D-lish Open Stores site.

Here are a couple of closeups of my layout particularly showing the great little tencil that I got with my Just Add Paper kit.

To achieve this look I used some embossing paste on my stencil and whilst it was still wet covered it with embossing powder.  Once dry I heated it until it bubbled which then gave it the funky texture.

So take out those Just Add Paper kits and get crafting.  They are so awesome and even with my layout I had heaps of little goodies left to add to my collection of goodies.
New kits are released at 7pm Queensland time on the 1st of every month.

Thanks for joining me today

See you all again soon.

Enjoy Life & the Beauty of Living

Hi Everyone,

Today's post is of my latest blog post for D-lish Scraps.

For the page that I am sharing with you today I chose a gorgeous photo of my niece Cassie and her beautiful horse Tensile. It is such a wonderful photo with the two of them so in sync with each other.  I wanted to bring out the green from the blanket under the saddle so based the entire layout on the colour.

Being on the Design Team I decided to go through all my goodies and sort them properly since I would need them at my fingertips all the time.
And after sorting I was quite surprised how much green I actually did have to create this layout.

Anyway, back to how I created the layout. I love using white as my base cardstock at the moment.
I find that it really draws the attention in to the photo and also give me opportunity to go crazy with bright colours.
So after grabbing my white cardstock I searched my stash for a print in a matching green and then tore it to be about 5" in size horizontally. I attached it to the white cardstock with double sided tape and then drew in a black pen some 'faux' stitching around the edge.

Next I found another matching pattered paper, the one I chose was chocolate brown with lime green so it matched beautifully.  I used this to make a large mat for the photo, around 1/2" bigger than the photo on each side.
I mounted my photo, on to 3D foam tape and attached a piece of punchinella to the
back of the photo before attaching it to the patterned photo mat.  I then used double sided tape to attach this to the base papers.
Finally I embellished it with lots of goodies from D-lish Scraps
I added some flairs buttons, resin flowers, paper flowers, and  sequin bow.
I also used some wood veneer shapes and word from previous 'Just Add Paper' kits. Whilst these are no longer available there is plenty of other wood veneer goodies in the store. I also used a scattering of lime loose sequins from a previous kit.
Again, check out the store for stranded sequins or grab bags of loose sequins.
