"STRONG" | Colour Blast

Hi Everyone

Now I love my Colour Blast products as much as you and with the large number of products in my collection I have been trying to use different colours on each of my posts.
Today I have used two of my all time favourite Colour Paste in Sienna and Leather. They are both extremely striking on the white background.
So after using a fun filter from Snapchat I ended up with the perfect photo for my layout. It's nice to play around once in a while.
After preparing my cardstock background with some Heavy White Gesso, using a baby wipe and two coordinating Colour Artist Inks in Rust and Cider I smooshed the Rust across the background and once dried added Cider.

I did this a couple of times to get the depth and colours that I wanted to tie in with the photo.

Next, using my metal spatula I stroked some of the Colour Paste
in Sienna and Leather down my page.  I wanted a very uneven look on the page.

Using the amazing Heavy White Gesso
I added more texture with a stencil ensuring some of the stencilling went over the Colour Paste.

After selecting my chosen embellishments I decided I wanted to keep the vast majority of them white.  I found a heap of wood veneer flowers in my stash.  I 'attacked' them with my sponge and Heavy White Gesso trying to get a a bit of a stippled and roughish look to them.

I didn't quite the look I wanted, so I worked with a paint brush and the gesso and ended up happy with the final result.
Using the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker in Clear I added a slight bling to the wood flowers.  It ended up ever so subtle but took the matte affect off them. I did up adding some copper glitter to two of the flowers that you can see in the close up photos below.

I added by bling title, a couple of mulberry paper flowers and a few sticker phrases from Flutterby Designs and a cute sequin bow from D-lish Scraps and the layout was complete.

Thanks for stopping by.

"Ellie" | Colour Blast

Happy Thursday Everyone

With Christmas just around the corner I am glad you dropped in to the blog today to check out my latest creation.

We adopted the most beautifully natured rescue puppy earlier this year after our 14 year old boy.  My other fur child Molly was depressed at his death and was very lonely so Miss Ellie came along at just the perfect time...... and even though they are both girls it was love at first sight for them.

Just the one photo shows just how photogenic she is with her big bunny rabbit.

For this layout I decided to use my Colour Shimmer Dusts in Candy and Peacock on watercolour paper.  Firstly on my mixing mat I added the Colour Shimmer Dust to some water.

After spraying the watercolour paper I then dipped my brush in the mixed up Colour Shimmer Dusts and lightly dabbed my brush on to the wet watercoLour paper. I tried it first on a small piece and I loved how the colours were so rich so I have kept the small piece to use at a later date on a card.

Below is how my finish A4 piece of watercolour paper turned out.
I looked amazing.

Once dry I then tore the watercolour paper and adhered it to my page base card. By doing my watercolouring this way I also had the control of where it went on my layout rather than leaving it to chance which is my normal result with mixed media products.

Some of us 'Colour Blasters' have the amazing Shimmer Cubes in their stash and until they run out I continue to use them on many of my projects to colour items.  For this layout I used the cube to colour some wood veneer pawprints from Corbett Creations and some letter to create Ellie's name.

And here are a couple of closeups of my finished layout.

Thanks for stopping by.
With Christmas coming in a couple of weeks how many presents are you making?

Until next time...

Flourish | Colour Blast

Hi Everyone

For my share today I've stepped outside my normal comfort zone of white backgrounds.  It is so easy to manipulate the white with colours so I decided to go the total opposite and use a black as my base for my scrapbooking page.

I prepared my cardstock by applying the Heavy Black Gesso. Once dry I softened the background using the Colour Shimmer Spray in Snow White.  I did this twice, the second time once the first spray had dried.  I have to apologise as I did forget to take a photo of the cardstock once I had sprayed it with the Colour Shimmer spray.

Next I applied some of the Heavy White Gesso through a couple of stencils.  I really love this gesso as it dries quite quickly, which is great as I am an impatient crafter.  I have learnt that by leaving your gesso open (without the lid) it helps thicken it up.  Mine obviously isn't as thick as I really want it as it bled a little underneath my large stencil.  You couldn't really notice it in the finished page so all turned out for the best :)

When the stenciling was dry I felt that it was like it was going to jump off the page and grab me around the throat so to soften it I decided to throw in a bit of pink.  Using some more of the Colour Shimmer Spray in Blush I sprayed over the gesso stenciling and dabbed off the excess with a paper towel.

My last bit of prep work was covering both my wood veneer title and chipboard accent with some white gesso.  For the title I added some Colour Paste in Snow White and for the chipboard accent I dabbed the Colour Paste in Punch over it with my finger.

Once I was happy with the background for my layout and title and chippie I added my photo, ephemera and other embellishments to the page. Oh, and a huge shout out to Jodi from Corbett Creations for my special wood veneer word.

To finish I used one of the new Shimmer Brush pens in Clear over some of my ephemera pieces to add a little bit of bling without being obvious. These pens are great and also come in gold and silver.

Check out a few closeups of the finished page.

Thank you for popping on by.
Don't forget to keep the craft alive.... and find at least a little time in your busy week to have a bit of a play.

Faces of You | Colour Blast

Welcome back.

During my time on the Design Team you will get to see a lot of my gorgeous little nephew Thomas.  He is nearly 18 months and has started running around now so he is becoming a little man with such a huge personality.

Featured in my layout today I have used the amazing Heavy White Gesso, the Colour Shimmer Spray and Colour Embossing Powder.

Starting with some of the Heavy White Gesso on a plate and added a few drops of the Envy Colour Shimmer Spray to mix up to the shade I needed.

Using one of my stencils I applied the paste with a spatula at different points over the white cardstock.  With the remainder I applied directly to the cardstock. Finally who doesn't love a 'splat' or two around the page.... me!! So that's what I did.

So below is a picture of what it looked like before everything else went down on to the page.

Next, using some of the Envy Embossing Powder I heat embossed my wooden letters.  I did two coats of the embossing powder to get a good coverage.

I forgot to take a picture of the next step.  I took a scribble chipboard circle from my stash and chopped in half.  Then, using the Dusty Charcoal Colour Shimmer Spray I painted the chipboard.  To do this I took a paper towel and absorbed a lot of the moisture, leaving a little moisture with the shimmer dust behind. I then applied it with a paint brush. I repeated the same process on two wood veneer arrows.

I did some stamping around the page using a black ink pad.  From my patterned paper offcut stash I added a couple of strips of matching patterned paper behind my matted photos (also on patterned paper).  I also found in my stash a couple of tags from a Prima ephemera pack.

The photo I was using as the central point was matted on 3D foam tape before adhering to the page. Popped down the title and I'm done.... and not a flower in site.

Below are a couple of close up photos of my finished page.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.
I hope I inspired you to have fun and create something.

Ciao for now.

HAPPY

Hi Everyone

I don't get much time to just scrap for myself, but I grabbed some inspiration from our wonderful PINTEREST and created this page .

I love monochromatic pages and had fun playing with some of the gorgeous Dylusions paints which I have only just started to collect. I love the consistency of these paints and am looking to expand from my current four pots to many many more.

I only have three shades of pink in my collection along with white (of course) so this helped me make my extra shade.

Using a 1" wide flat brush I took generous amounts of paint and brushed them down the page to varying lengths.  In two spots down the page I did brush strokes of of glue and then scattered silver glitter across the glue.

Once the paint was dry I took some of the gorgeous Colour Blast colour paste in Lipstick along with one of the mini Kaisercraft stencils and added some texture to the background. Using the same colour Lipstick embossing powder I heat embossed my HAPPY title.  Once cool I added some wet glue (tombow) to the ends of it and add some more of the silver glitter.
Taking the Colour Blast  Spray in Lipstick (you will see I always get the entire colour set in Colour Blast) I scattered some small splats on the page.

My little wood veneer hearts and arrows were covered in some of the gorgeous Prima Art Alchemy paint in "Sparks".

I added some gorgeous venice lace under the photo before attaching it to the page.

A couple of gorgeous flower clusters never go astray of a pretty page.

I added some more highlights by stamping with a couple of different 49 and Market stamps, the "Gabi's Loose Threads" set which contained the circles and the "Gabi's Line Stitch" set which contained the lines of stitching.
Finally there I added some enamel dots over the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hopefully I will get back here again soon with another fun page :)
