The Ritz Ladies set

Hi Everyone.

I have been making quite a few cards lately and decided I needed to start building up my collection at bit for birthday so have created these two gorgeous female cards using The Ritz collection by Ultimate Crafts.

I love the die cut cards at the back of the paper pads and have chosen to incorporate colours matching with some of the colours in the background of the die cuts.  The cards are all about layering and very quick and easy to put together.

CARD 1

For my first card, the bride, I decided to pick up the pink from the flowers on the die cut background.
The coloured cardstock I used by Ultimate Crafts was Precious for my pink and Paper Bag for my golden brown.  Both my cards measured 5x7" in size.  I cut both the pink and golden brown to my chosen mat size and then embossed the pink with the Rose Trellis embossing folder.

After choosing the die cut I cut out two of the Artdeco Wave Border dies in the Couture Creations Mirror Board in Matte Gold.  I matted the die cut on to a Paper Bag coloured mat and then attached the gold Artdeco Waves Border dies to the back and attached in to the pink embossed cardstock .

Next, I die cut the Classy Flower and the Flourished Harp in both the matte gold and precious pink cardstock.    I layered the two flower dies on top of each other and placed an embellishment from my stash to the centre and adhered it to the bottom left of the lady.  I then tucked in the two harp die cuts under the flower .

CARD 2

My second card was constructed the same as the first one.  I again used the Paper Bag golden brown cardstock and embossed the Geometric embossing folder on some of the Garnet red cardstock.  I cut two of the Classy Flower decorative dies in the Matte Gold mirror board and two of the Deco Feather one in gold and one in the Garnet red cardstock.  Using the two way glue pen I applied glue to the white flower and with an offcut of some of the gold foil adhered the gold on to the tacky glue.  I repeated this  on the embossed red cardstock before putting it all together.

Christmas in July

Hi Everyone

I am back again for my next July post.

I have to say that I really like the new Tina Higgins Let Every Day be Christmas range from Couture Creations.  I love how the colours aren't traditional going into yellows and greens/blues shying away from red.  I am even looking forward to using it for something not Christmas based shortly, so watch this space.

Today I have two Christmas cards to share.  They are both nice and quick to complete so let me show you what I've made.
My cards are a Z fold card using ephemera and my second card is an A framed card.

 CARD 1 - Z Fold Card

To start I cut a piece of Ultimate Crafts Ivory cardstock  to 5" x 8 1/2".  Next sore  at  2 3/4" and at 5 1/2".  Next trim off 1" as per the picture below.

I then chose patterned papers that I liked and cut them to size.  Prior to adhering I inked all my edges in a matching green.

I selected several different Ephemera pieces and adhered them to the front of the card and along long narrow piece.  To finish I used some of the 2mm pearls in Sunflower.  Some close up photos are below.

 CARD 2 - A Frame card

To start I made a frame from patterned paper and put 3D foam mounting tape on the reverse.  Next I cut a piece of Mirror Board in Damask matte gold and adhered it to my card base, then placed my foam mounted frame on top.

Next I die cut out of matte gold Mirror Board the Merry Christmas sentiment.
It came out just so pretty.

I forgot to take a couple of photos but I also die cut in the matte gold Mirror Board the Christmas Branches.  I also mounted 2 more patterned paper on some ivory cardstock after inking the edges in a matching gold ink.  I also did this at the end around the entire front of the card. I mounted the 25th December tag from the Ephemera pack on some Battle Fatigue green card stock and fussy cut and edge around it.

I layered it all together, added a matching flower, a little green lace and gold baubles to finish it off. There are some close up photos below.

Let Every Day Be Christmas | Artdeco Creations

Hi Everyone

WELCOME TO JULY!!!! Wow we are half way through the year already, I swear I blinked and the last six months have gone.  So much has happened for me during that time including receiving a redundancy from a job I had been employed in for 31 years.
I think I pretty much gave my age away :)

To be honest it couldn't have come at a better time.  I have been able to chill out for the last two months getting my body clock back to normality after working 19 years of night work.
I am now ready to take on the world!!!

There are so so many new ranges coming this year, the first one is Let Every Day Be Christmas from Couture Creations and designed by the lovely Tina Higgins which will be out in your local papercrafting store very soon.
I am really loving this collection as the colours are so so different to most Christmas ranges.

My layout is all about the layers, just building and building until I liked the end result.

To start I decided that I wanted more just an ivory coloured cardstock for my background so I took the gorgeous Holiday Tree decorative die and cut out enough to place over my cardstock to become a type of template.  I then sprayed it with a mix of yellow gold and brown Anna Griffin pigment powder.  After removing the die cuts I was left with a subtle pattern to my cardstock.

Next I chose several patterned papers and cut them to a few different sizes and orientations to use for my layers behind my chose photos.

I cut out a heap of the Christmas Branches decorative die in some of the matte gold mirror board, and also two shades of green Ultimate Crafts Cardstock, Battle Fatigue and Cypress Pine.

To construct the layout I started with the patterned paper pieces and arranged them so that I could see them behind my three photos, then glued them down. I added a few of the Ephemera branches behind the photos and then kept adding the Christmas Branches die cuts and Ephemera pieces to keep adding layers.   A few flowers and I was done.
