Love LIfe

Hi Everyone,  back again (after a little absense) with a layout I created  on the weekend using the Ultimate Crafts L'Aquarelle collction.   For some reason this came pretty easily to me which really says something. I can normally spend hours and hours trying to think of something to do but this one came together quite quickly.

To start I added some of the Anna Griffin Mix and Match Pigment Powder in red to my Embossing Paste.  Using the Field of Flowers stencil I messily added the colour paste over my background papers.  I then chose a Couture Creations Anna Griffin 10x10" floral stencil, added the white embossing paste to a couple of the flowers on to the background papers.

I next mixed up some spray using the same red pigment powder that I coloured the embossing paste with.  Just add water to the pigment powder to get a nice pearlised spritz.

I die cut two of the Floral Bunting die and then trimmed them down.  Check out the before and after picture.  I then sprayed them with the pearlised spritz that I made.

Next I chose a couple of coordinating papers from the 6x6"paper pad and cut them in to strips.  I inked the edges in black and on the purpley/blue paper I stamped a flower image from the Fern, Flower and Flourishes stamp set.

I mounted my photo on 3D mounting tape and then attached my die cuts to the reverse along with the strips of paper in a style that I liked.  I then glued this down to my base patterned paper.
From there I mounted one of the Inspiration Cards on some white cardstock and ink the edges, again, in black. This was then adhered to the bottom left corner of the page.
I chose a selection of flowers, both from my stash and some of the Couture Creations bulk flowers, sprtized the centres of slightly coloured some of them using the matching Pearl Drops
in the colour Madagascar. My page had three different clusters of flowers. Once together I decided to add a stamped image to my background and chose the smaller of the two feathers from the You are Beautiful Inside stamp set.
Finally I added a few wood veneers, inked in a matching ink, to the page.

Count Your Life by Smiles | ARTDECO Creations

Welcome back Everyone.

I would like to share with you a monochromatic layout that I have done using the stunning RAMBLING ROSE collection by Sue Smyth.

The patterned paper that I have used is my ultimate ultimate favourite in this collection.  Whilst I really love the colour the paper is all about the lace print on it.  There are two other colour combos using the same lace background which are on my list to use very soon.

I participated recently in Creative Inspiration Live 2017 in Brisbane and have some wonderful memories in photos.  The first I am using in today's project.  Our wonderfully talented Design Team member Bridget Louw and good friend Tracey Rohweder surround me in this picture.
I hope they both feel I have done this photo justice.  I love the end result.

Ok, lets get on with it :)

I knew I wanted to mat my photo on to a larger patterned mat, and once I had decided on the size decided on how I wanted to cut the other papers.  I then matted these on to matching Plummery coloured Ultimate Crafts cardstock. The next bit was hard for me...... I tore two of the matted sizes.

The next step was taking an array of gorgeous dies and cutting them out in Snow White Ultimate Crafts Cardstock.  I used dies from the following collections - L'Aquarelle, Rambling Rose, Ooh La La and Ornamental Affair.
I also loved the stamp in the Rambling Rose Stamp & Die Set so ended up using it and it became the title for my entire layout.

Next, I selected a couple of the dies that I wanted to use 'sticking' out from behind some of the matted patterned papers and also from behind my photo.  I then decided on a layout style and stuck down the patterned papers.

In the Rambling Rose collection there is a gorgeous Bunting and Alpha stamp set. I took some of the bunting and snipped off the stitching and then layered the little banners on top of each other to make a 3 high stack.

I did forget to take a photo of the next step which was to make several other different size banners using the patterned paper offcuts that I had and then mounted them on the Plummery cardstock as well.

I then created a couple of layered flowers using the Tattered Carnations Floral Layers die set.  I inked the edges in a matching pink ink and then scrunched them up a bit.

The final part was just all about the constructing.  With all the 'ingredients' I have die cut and created, all I added were some of the smaller Bulk Flowers and some of the pearl strips from the Rambling Rose collection, oh and one of the resin flowers.

Below are some closeups of the finished layout. Don't forget you can click on each photo to get a closer and bigger look at each photo.

Spread you Wings and Fly | Artdeco Creations

Hello Everyone!
Anita here again today to share with you a layout I have created for goodies from the L'Aquarelle collection.

For this layout I decided to concentrate on some stamping and mixed media, building the textures.

So have you gotten hold of the Couture Creations Anna Griffin mixed media products yet.  I have to say I absolutely love the gesso to prepare my papers as it is so light and it dries so quickly which is what I need due to my impatience when creating.  I also love love love the embossing paste.  It is just like beautiful light and fluffy buttercream icing.
Below you will see the Mixed Media products that I have used on the layout.

To start the layout I have taken some Snow White Ultimate Crafts Cardstock and coated it with a light coverage of the Acrylic Gesso.  If you like you can fasten the drying process with your heat gun but be gentle as too much heat will make the cardstock curl.

Next in a small spritz bottle with water add a good mix of the green and blue Pigment Powders to mix to a shade that you like.  You now have your own customised pearlised spritz.
Spray the page where you want coverage.  I had issues with my spray bottle so I assisted the blending with my fingers to get a better coverage.
Once the my spray was dry I then took my embossing paste and the Daisy Batik stencil and added some more texture to the cardstock.
I next took some black spray and using the insert flicked some black ink lightly across the layout.

Below is how my pearlised spray and embossed stencil came up.

Next I stamped up the single flower from the Flowers & Flourishes stamp set, and also two of the butterflies from the 'Spread your Wings' set.
I poured out a little of the pearlised spritz on to a plate and soaked up the majority of the moisture.  The remainder on the plate I used and painted on to the flowers that I stamped.  Make sure you use an archival black ink so that the ink does not bleed when water touches it.

Enjoy fussy cutting the four flowers and two butterflies.
I used a couple of other stamps from my personal collection to add a few 'lines' of stamping to my page, I then hot glued some lace down the length of the page.

After mounting the photo on 3D foam tape, it is then just about laying the flowers and butterflies.  I added a few extra butterflies just stamped on the cardstock and because I loved the dragonflies so much added a couple of them as well from the Spread Your Wings stamp set.  I also used the sentiment from the same set as my page title.
To finish the page I coloured some of the snow white 3mm pearls with black permanent pen and once dry to touch placed some over the page.
To finish I drew a thin line around the edge of the layout to frame it.

Below are a few closeups of the page.

70 | Couture Creations

Well hello everyone, Anita here back on the blog today

Welcome back and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY 💖

Today I have a 70th birthday card that I made using the soon to be available L'AQUARELLE range.  I really love the script background papers so I just had to use some of them for this card.

For my card base I cut a piece of  Ultimate Crafts Cardstock in SNOW WHITE to 9.75" x 6.5 " scoring at 3.25".  The card front will be smaller at 3.25" and the back a 6.5" square.
The smaller front card is cut from an 8.5" x 4.25"piece of SNOW WHITE cardstock scored at 4.25".
Next I selected CASCADE cardstock and mats for the patterned paper as follows:
one of 6.25"x6.25" - for inside back of card
two of 3"x 6.25" - for front and inside front of card
one of 4"x4" - front of smaller card
For the inside of the smaller card the VALENTINE shade of red in the Ultimate Crafts Cardstock matched perfectly to the red in the butterflies on the L'Aquarelle patterned papers.  For the mats I cut two 4" x 4" mats, and then one final 3.75" x 3.75" in the SNOW WHITE cardstock for the area to write the sentiment.

Next I chose several of the patterned papers that had the script background.  I cut each of these 0.25" smaller that each of the coloured cardstock mats.  Adhere all with doubled side tape.

The next couple of photo will show you how the card starts coming together.

Next I attached the smaller card to the right inside of the main card as in the picture below.

To finish the front of the card I inked up a piece of white seam binding with match blue and red inks and then sprayed it with water so that colours ran into each other.  I then blasted it with my heat gun to dry it quickly.

I gathered the ribbon up and twisted it into a bow and attached it with hot glue to the front of the card. I added a couple of flowers from my stash as I had run out of the Couture Creations bulk flowers and have yet to get some more.

The finishing touch to the card after the '70' was the gorgeous metal butterfly from the
L'Aquarelle  collection.

I am really happy with the end result and I hope the birthday girl loves it too.
