Magical Memories by Anita Enright

Hi Everyone,

And, just like that.... Christmas is now over for another year. I hope everyone had a wonderful time with family and friends and you have taken some great photos to scrap in 2017.

For my post today I have created a layout using the Wild & Free collection from Couture Creations also using a couple of the gorgeous dies from the Ornamental Affair Collection.

I loved the below photo so I just had to use it in a layout. It was taken on my honeymoon from our trip to Kuranda in Northern Queensland.

I wanted to keep my layout very 'clean' and simple so that all focus was drawn in on to the photo and that gorgeous Galah who was ever so happy to sit on my hand.

I chose to keep the base cardstock white so I chose the Snow White cardstock from Couture Creations. I teamed the white up with Verde (green) and Fairy Wings (pink) cardstock as well from Couture Creations.
I double matted my photo on the white and green cardstock and added some 3D foam mounting tape to the reverse. Next I selected three patterned paper from the Wild & Free paper collection and layered them on the white base cardstock.
I cut out one of each of the Otis and Juniper doily dies, one in white and one in green cardstock, and one of the Everly Background and two of the Clementine Border in the pink cardstock.
Next cut the Otis and Juniper doilies in half and attach to the back of your mounted photo, then adhered this over the layers of Wild & Free papers.

I chose a border strip from the Ephemera pack, cut it in half and attach it close to the bottom edge of the page, half on each side. Looking through the sticker sheet available in the Wild & Free collection pack I found the perfect sticker that I could use for my title. I mounted it on some of the green cardstock and snipped in the sides to look like a double ended banner. Mount this on some 3D foam mounting tape. Next I took one of the Clementine Border dies and cut two small pieces from it and attach to the reverse of the title and then added it to the centre of the emphemera strip that I earlier attached to the bottom of my cardstock base. The other Clementine Border I adhered along the right side of the patterned papers and tucked in the Everly Background die cut to the top right side of the patterned papers.

To finish I added a round sticker with the word 'untamed' on it and attached it slightly over the photo using 3D foam dots to the back to level it out. I used one of the Cottage Pollen bulk flowers and lightly inked then edges in a matching pink ink and then spritzed it with water so that the ink softened.
This was a nice, quick and easy layout to complete and I am happy with the result. It will be put in a frame and hung on the wall in my craft room.

Wild & Free

Hi Hi :)

I'm back today showing a couple of cards using the gorgeous

WILD & FREE collection from Couture Creations.
The papers are just stunning and the dies are gorgeous.

I have created two quick cards using the collections along with the Anna Griffin glitters
and Pigment Powders.

So for the 1st card I cut a piece of Obsidian cardstock to 8x8" and folded it in half so that the cardbase became 8x4" long card. Next cut a piece of the Lovebirds Nest patterned paper from the 12x12" Wild & Free paper stack slightly smaller so that the card base becomes the mat for the patterned paper.
I used some vellum to make a large tag to place on the front. Cut a smaller tag in black ensuring you leave enough room on the bottom to heat emboss a sentiment.

Check out how amazing the gold embossing powder is. It is so fine and sparkly.

I decided that the black needed something more so I mounted the black tag on some yellow. This also brought the yellow out in the patterned paper more. I punched a hole at the top added a brand and some bold twine.

I totally forgot to take some pics but I then die cut two of the Lovebirds Feather, one in Topaz Ultimate Craft cardstock and one in Obsidian black cardstock.
I added some of the Maroon glitter from the Anna Griffin Glitter Collection to the Couture Creations Crystal Clear High Gloss embossing powder.
I covered the black cardstock in Versamark ink and then covered the cardstock with the glitter embossing powder combo before heat setting it. You will see how amazing it came up in the close up pictures below. Finally I attached the two feather under the brad and then
attached the tag to the card base.

For card two I used the same size card base but as landscape instead. The Fourished Lapwing die is one of my absolute favourites from the WILD & FREE collections and loved using it. And to finish it all off it ended up being a Christmas card.

To start die cut 3 of the Flourished Lapwing die. It is such a beautiful die with such delicate details.

I did end up recutting two more birds in a green as the powder and glitter did not cover the original cream cardstock the way I wanted.

Next mix some of the green pigment powder from the Anna Griffin Pigment Powder Collection in the blue to some of the high gloss crystal clean embossing powder. Coat one of the birds in versamark or similar embossing ink and heat set.

Next mix some of the Lime glitter with some clear embossing powder and heat emboss the two green birds. I heat embossed them three times to get a more three dimensional and richer colour. The picture of the two birds shows one embossed twice and the other three times. It will give you an idea of how much richer it came out.

I added a patterned strip of paper and matching lime cardstock to the front of the card. I did it the hard way and cut the card front down first and then mounted papers on top of each other to get the 4x8" card front back.
I liked this look better than just mounting the lime and print on top of the card base.

Finally just found the birds on some mini 3D foam dots, add a sentiment and some pearls to the edges and y our done. Pretty and effective.

Dazzled by Zebras

Hi Everyone

A lot of us can only imagine what it would be like to go on a safari in Africa. I am hoping one day that I get the chance to see majestic animals in the wild. The closest I have been to them in the wild would be the Western Plains Zoo in Dubbo, New South Wales, where they have more room to roam.

Finally I have a collection of papers and dies that I think do my photos from our trip some justice........

The WILD & FREE Collection by Couture Creations.

I started with a piece of Ivory Ultimate Crafts Cardstock and die cut two full sets of the 'A Dazzle of Zebras' dies across the full 30cm. Next I added the Zebra print paper from the Wild & Free Paper Collection pack to the back of the piece of cardstock I had just cut and adhered it to a full piece of Ivory cardstock.

Next, cut two full sets of zebras in the Obsidian black cardstock. I then heat embossed the die cut zebras with the Couture Creations Crystal Clear High Gloss embossing powder. I double heat embossed the die cuts to give them more depth and looked more 3D. I then glued them into the original die cut panel. I then added a strip of the patterned paper with the green and blue peacock feathers to the top and bottom of the banner of zebras.

I selected several different flowers from the Couture Creations bulk flower range and inked them up in matching blue and green to match in with the peacock feather patterned paper. To blend the inks into the flowers better I spritzed them all with water and then dried them off with my heat gun. The phots below show the before and after the water spritz.

As I put the layout together I decided it need something extra. I used the Forest Frame die and cut two frames, one in Cyrpess Pine and one in Battle Fatigue cardstock. I cut them down to use along either side of my mounted photo.

To finish I added a title in chipboard letters and drew around the edges of the page.
