"STRONG" | Colour Blast

Hi Everyone

Now I love my Colour Blast products as much as you and with the large number of products in my collection I have been trying to use different colours on each of my posts.

Today I have used two of my all time favourite Colour Paste in Sienna and Leather. They are both extremely striking on the white background.  

So after using a fun filter from Snapchat I ended up with the perfect photo for my layout. It's nice to play around once in a while.

 After preparing my cardstock background with some Heavy White Gesso, using a baby wipe and two coordinating Colour Artist Inks in Rust and Cider I smooshed the Rust across the background and once dried added Cider.

I did this a couple of times to get the depth and colours that I wanted to tie in with the photo.

  

Next, using my metal spatula I stroked some of the Colour Paste

in Sienna and Leather down my page.  I wanted a very uneven look on the page.

Using the amazing Heavy White Gesso

I added more texture with a stencil ensuring some of the stencilling went over the Colour Paste. 

After selecting my chosen embellishments I decided I wanted to keep the vast majority of them white.  I found a heap of wood veneer flowers in my stash.  I 'attacked' them with my sponge and Heavy White Gesso trying to get a a bit of a stippled and roughish look to them.

I didn't quite the look I wanted, so I worked with a paint brush and the gesso and ended up happy with the final result.

  Using the Colour Shimmer Brush Marker in Clear I added a slight bling to the wood flowers.  It ended up ever so subtle but took the matte affect off them. I did up adding some copper glitter to two of the flowers that you can see in the close up photos below.

 

 I added by bling title, a couple of mulberry paper flowers and a few sticker phrases from Flutterby Designs and a cute sequin bow from D-lish Scraps and the layout was complete.

Wishing you a Bunch of Flowers | Couture Creations

Welcome to Friday everyone, I hope you have had a great week even if you were working like me.

I am continuing with the gorgeous C'est La Vie collection.
My card today was creating using off cuts from my 12x12" paper pad.  It shows
how you can ensure you make the most out of your paper pads.

 

For this card I made a 6x6" white card base.  You can resize it to any size depending on the off cut paper pieces that you have .

After making the card base, I selected a range of papers and cut them to 2x2" in size.

 

Next I destessed all the edged and placed them on the card base just to get an idea of how I wanted the card to look.

I then adhered them all down, making that when I attached the double sided tape that I didn't go right to the edge so that once all pieces were attached, using my fingers I could distress the edges more. 

The next picture shows the extra distressing along with two pieces of decoupage flower attached with 3D foam mounting tape.

To finish off I just went to town with my flowers to make it very pretty.

Sorry for the hot glue gun threads.... I thought I got them all.

HAPPY 2018!!!!!!

So who has made a resolution for this year??

More to the point, who has and has already broken it???

I answer "NO" to question one and therefore question two doesn't come in to it.

My philosophy is to go bigger and better than the year before.... so in saying that I am going to kick my craft out of the park :)

So.... in saying that my first post for 2018 is using the gorgeous new C'est La Vie range from Tina Higgins and Couture Creations.

 So my card is all about layers.  Starting with an 'ivory' colour card base using the Ultimate Craft Cardstock, I then selected the 6x6" papers that I liked for my card.  The 1st piece I attached I trimmed down by 1/4" and then distressed the edges.  The paper was the one with the words along the top and bottom of the page. 

 

Next I chose the stripe and cut it down  by 1",  created a banner from it and again distessing the edges, attaching it with double sided tape.

I then created two banners, a larger one in the really really pretty floral and a smaller one which I attached to the back of the floral one, in the spotty pink paper.

 The chipboard from this collection is really pretty so I took the C'est La Vie border and sentiment set and using the Champagne coloured heat activated foil, foiled the chipboard frame.

 Once all attached I took a couple of pieces of ephemera and attached them to the frame.  I also really like the fern chipboard from the collection so I wanted to use them too.  I inked them in a matching colour.  Too a little more texture to the card I added some white gauze under the flower cluster

You will notice a little glitter over a couple of the ephemera pieces. I used a 'Wink of Stella' pen to get this effect as I only wanted it very subtle. I inked up my white Couture Creations flowers with a matching pink.  I finished it off with a couple of smaller pale green flowers from my stash.

Wedding Congratulations

Hi Everyone,

Anita back here on the blog with you today.

I can't believe we nearly half way through December already.  CRAZY!!!!!!

For my post for your today I thought I would share with you a card I made for my younger brothers wedding.  Looking at it you would not know it was a wedding card, and I guess it could be used for any occasion.

The real reason I am sharing this with you is because I have found another technique that can be used with your GoPress and Foil machine.

You will have to follow through my tutorial to see exactly what it is but if you love your shabby chic card making or scrapbooking you will love what I have found for you.

So come on this journey today with me and check it out.

Okay, so to start I chose a very pale piece of pink cardstock and it cut it down to 6"x12" to make a square 6x6" card base.

Next I took some of the gorgeous Damask Gold Mirror Board and cut it down to 5 7/8" x 5 7/8" and adhered it to the card base.

 

Using the Damask Gold mirror board cut out two of the Nostalgic Narelle die from the Ornamental Lace collection of dies.

 

  

I attached the two die cuts along the top and bottom of the card base just along the straight edge.

 

OKAY...... now on to what I've found out!!!!!!!

So many of us have played with embossing or texture paste into silicone molds.

These molds are the same ones that cake decorators use with the fondant icing.

 I applied the embossing paste in to my chosen mold.  I love using the embossing paste because I tend to find that it dries quicker than the texture paste and remains a little more malleable.

I left it overnight to dry so that it came out of the mold cleanly.  If you try and take it out too early it will break and/or stick to the mold. PLUS be very careful taking it out particularly 

the more detailed ones.

   

 So this is just how pretty the mold it when you remove it from the silicone. 

So, I had been playing with my GoPress and Foil Machine and thought that we can pretty much foil most things so I thought, what about these gorgeous molded embellishments. The one I used is not thicker than a piece of normal chipboard so it had to work.... right??

I played and played and finally I got the result I was after.

So, as per normal heat up your machine.  

Place your chosen foil coloured side down towards the black heat pad, dull silver side facing up.  

Next, place your mold facing down on to the dull silver of the foil.

 

Now, I always have protected my plastic plate at the top of my machine with a cardstock shim, but found if I used this with the mold embellishment it stuck to the cardstock.  I think this was because of the heat being transferred through the embossing paste and making it slightly sticky for a small period of time.

So the end result was I used a piece of a 'stuffed' non stick mat which I had mistakenly cut with a craft knife.  I cut the mat down in to several different sizes and now one stays with my 

GoPress and Foil Machine.

The most important thing to remember is that pretty much as soon as you put the foil, mold and craft mat down you need to run it through the die cutting machine.  If you keep it too long on the heat plate I found that when you run it through the die cutting machine it squishes flat.  

It's all about speed for this one. I let it cool on the mat prior to pulling it off so that it became a little harder again.

 

So this is final result.  I had made the picture big so you can see just how gorgeous it came out.

I used the Champagne Iridescent Foil for this one. 

The foil doesn't get down in to the nooks and crannies of the mold but that is the whole point.

We want it to look 'shabby chic'.

I just love it!!!

So I now know you all want to go out and try it..... but let me finish my tutorial first :)

Okay, so next I cut the molded piece in half, and then glued it on to a piece of the pink cardstock, matted again on some of the Damask Gold mirror board.

 

I mounted this piece across the centre of the card and added some matching flowers to the centre of the mold.  To finish I made a matching envelope and added a Simone's Style die cut across the bottom of the envelope, adding another couple of flowers.  This die was also from the Ornamental Lace collection of dies.

It was a quick card and I love the new technique I discovered whilst playing.... now I just want to keep playing more and more making pretty things.

Hi Everyone

I don't get much time to just scrap for myself, but I grabbed some inspiration from our wonderful PINTEREST and created this page .  

I love monochromatic pages and had fun playing with some of the gorgeous Dylusions paints which I have only just started to collect. I love the consistency of these paints and am looking to expand from my current four pots to many many more.

I only have three shades of pink in my collection along with white (of course) so this helped me make my extra shade.

Using a 1" wide flat brush I took generous amounts of paint and brushed them down the page to varying lengths.  In two spots down the page I did brush strokes of of glue and then scattered silver glitter across the glue.

Once the paint was dry I took some of the gorgeous Colour Blast colour paste in Lipstick along with one of the mini Kaisercraft stencils and added some texture to the background. Using the same colour Lipstick embossing powder I heat embossed my HAPPY title.  Once cool I added some wet glue (tombow) to the ends of it and add some more of the silver glitter.
Taking the Colour Blast  Spray in Lipstick (you will see I always get the entire colour set in Colour Blast) I scattered some small splats on the page.

My little wood veneer hearts and arrows were covered in some of the gorgeous Prima Art Alchemy paint in "Sparks".

 

I added some gorgeous venice lace under the photo before attaching it to the page.

 

A couple of gorgeous flower clusters never go astray of a pretty page.

 

I added some more highlights by stamping with a couple of different 49 and Market stamps, the "Gabi's Loose Threads" set which contained the circles and the "Gabi's Line Stitch" set which contained the lines of stitching. 

Finally there I added some enamel dots over the page.
