Relax | D-lish Scraps

Hello Everyone,

I thought I would share with you my final creation as part of the D-lish Design Team.

So for my last share with you I decided it needed to be a puppy page.  I haven't done many lately, and since they are my babies, thought I would finally do one.

So, this page is all about my old boy Max.  He is now over 13 years old, and I know his days with us are becoming numbered (he is going blind and deaf and becoming riddled with arthritis), so I want to make sure I have his scrapbook album full so I can continue to enjoy the memories for years to come.

To start I decided I wanted a printed border around my page.  After choosing the patterned papers that I wanted to use, I took my white cardstock and trimmed 1" off my cardstock. I then stamped it with a stitched circle stamp.
I mounted my photo on some cardboard just to give it a bit of height from the page.  Behind it I added some more patterned papers and then one of the D-lish paper doilies.

Once I have layered my papers and photo I then just went to town on embellishing the page with heaps of goodies from the D-lish Scraps store.

I have used a whole heaps of D-lish goodies including some from previous 'Just Add Paper' kits.  Goodies include the cute little resin flowers, wood veneer title, washi tape and flair buttonI really love using the ombre wordfetti as they have words in different shades of the same colour palette.

I have little clusters all over the page.  They include everything from the cute little sequin bow, to wood veneer hearts, a tassel and paper flowers of all different styles and sizes.  To finish I added some of the enamel dots.

So for one final time Thanks for Looking.
I wish you all well on your crafting journeys.

Ciao for now.

My Favourite Photos of You

Hi Everyone back here today to share with you another creation using the gorgeous RAMBLING ROSE collection form Ultimate Crafts which has just been released.

For today's creation I have used so many of the beautiful butterflies that cover the patterned papers in the colletion.

To start I have taken a piece of the Ultimate Craft cardstock in Snow White.  From the 12x12" paper pad I have used the wood panel paper.  There are two options in the papers, one with just the wood panels and one that has a lovely floral border along the bottom.  Because I wanted the focus to be the butterflies I have stuck to the simpler plain wood panels.

From the wood panel paper I trimmed a piece approximately 5" vertical and adhered it to the left side of the white cardstock.
I chose a square photo and mounted it on a piece of the Obsidian cardstock. I added a heart doily from the Ooh La La range to the back of the photo mat.
From the ephemera pack I chose one of the thin borders and after working out where I wanted to position my photo cut the thin border in two so that it edged the wood panel paper and finished right to the edges of the top and bottom of the page.

Next I fussy cut heaps of butterflies from the patterned papers.  Using some of the pigment powders in the coral pink and purple and a water pen I changed the colours of the inside of the butterflies.

I added some of the 2.5cm and 3cm Tie Dyed and Jewelled flowers to both the top and bottom left side of the photo and then I scattered the butterflies up the seam of the patterned paper, some of foam tape and some just glued down. I kept a couple of the butterflies aside to just add to other spots on the page once I had completed it.

I inked up a title and adhered it to the bottom right edge of the page.  Finally I added some pearls to the butterflies.

Stop and Smell the Roses | Artdeco Creations

Hi Everyone,

Today I am showcasing my first layout using the newly released RAMBLING ROSE collection by the talented Sue Smyth.
I can honestly say that I love this entire collection but I totally fell for the patterned paper I used in this layout the beautiful white doily background with the yellow and pinky peach hues and the black outline of the roses. And I had the perfect photo for it too.

To start I took my patterned paper and tore approximately 5" strip from it and adhered it across the centre of my white cardstock base.  I used some washi from my stash and ran a strip along the bottom edge of my patterned paper.
Next I took a black and a matching yellow spray/spritz splattered some over the page, both the white cardstock and over the patterned paper.

After matting my chosen photo on some white cardstock I cut a piece of other matching patterned paper slightly larger than my matted photo and inked the edges with black ink. I then adhered it to the layout.  I mounted my matted photo on some cardboard to add further dimension.

Now to embellish the layout.  I added a flower cluster to the bottom left of the photo using some of the Couture Creations white flowers along with some of the rose diecuts from the CARDMARKERS collection pack.  I also added two butterflies from the diecut sheet  and a small title to the layout.

To finish the layout I added the gorgeous cream resin swallow and some of the grey and peach coloured pearls.

Spread you Wings and Fly | Artdeco Creations

Hello Everyone!
Anita here again today to share with you a layout I have created for goodies from the L'Aquarelle collection.

For this layout I decided to concentrate on some stamping and mixed media, building the textures.

So have you gotten hold of the Couture Creations Anna Griffin mixed media products yet.  I have to say I absolutely love the gesso to prepare my papers as it is so light and it dries so quickly which is what I need due to my impatience when creating.  I also love love love the embossing paste.  It is just like beautiful light and fluffy buttercream icing.
Below you will see the Mixed Media products that I have used on the layout.

To start the layout I have taken some Snow White Ultimate Crafts Cardstock and coated it with a light coverage of the Acrylic Gesso.  If you like you can fasten the drying process with your heat gun but be gentle as too much heat will make the cardstock curl.

Next in a small spritz bottle with water add a good mix of the green and blue Pigment Powders to mix to a shade that you like.  You now have your own customised pearlised spritz.
Spray the page where you want coverage.  I had issues with my spray bottle so I assisted the blending with my fingers to get a better coverage.
Once the my spray was dry I then took my embossing paste and the Daisy Batik stencil and added some more texture to the cardstock.
I next took some black spray and using the insert flicked some black ink lightly across the layout.

Below is how my pearlised spray and embossed stencil came up.

Next I stamped up the single flower from the Flowers & Flourishes stamp set, and also two of the butterflies from the 'Spread your Wings' set.
I poured out a little of the pearlised spritz on to a plate and soaked up the majority of the moisture.  The remainder on the plate I used and painted on to the flowers that I stamped.  Make sure you use an archival black ink so that the ink does not bleed when water touches it.

Enjoy fussy cutting the four flowers and two butterflies.
I used a couple of other stamps from my personal collection to add a few 'lines' of stamping to my page, I then hot glued some lace down the length of the page.

After mounting the photo on 3D foam tape, it is then just about laying the flowers and butterflies.  I added a few extra butterflies just stamped on the cardstock and because I loved the dragonflies so much added a couple of them as well from the Spread Your Wings stamp set.  I also used the sentiment from the same set as my page title.
To finish the page I coloured some of the snow white 3mm pearls with black permanent pen and once dry to touch placed some over the page.
To finish I drew a thin line around the edge of the layout to frame it.

Below are a few closeups of the page.

be BOLD | D-lish Scraps

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to March.  For my first share on the D-Lish Scraps blog this month I got a little bit messy to create this page of my niece Sabine.  I have had this photo in my collection for a little while now and I think I have finally done it justice, well I am hoping I have.  It needed this little bit of 'grunge' to help it shine considering the attitude on her face.

To start my page I covered my white cardstock with some gesso.  Once dry I used an orange gelato stick and scribbled on the bottom third of the page and then spritzed it with water, then blended it with my fingers.  I then lightly dried it using my heat gun.

Next I used an alphabet stencil from my collection and added some texture over the top portion of the orange.  I then mixed in a little of the gelato stick into some embossing paste and used a flourish stencil to add some more texture to the page. Once dry I flicked a small amount of black ink over the page.

Using a script stamp and some black ink, I stamped in a couple of places over the background.
My embellishments came mostly from previous Just Add Paper kits, including the film strips and polaroid die cuts, the washi tape, black wire, punchinella and the flair button.  I also added some enamel dots and enamal shapes and a couple of raw veneer stars that I inked up.

Whilst some of the exact items are no longer available, there is a whole range of other goodies available that could easily replace what I have used on the page.

Thanks so much for dropping by.  I hope you are even just a little inspired to jump in a try some of the current challenges up on The Scrap Suite Facebook page.
Hopefully I'll see you back here in a couple of weeks for my next post.

Ciao,
Anita

Pretty in Pink

Hi Everyone, thank you for dropping by my blog today.

My post today is of a layout that I created for D-lish Scraps March Moodboard. I love all the shades of pink and it has turned out so pretty.

To make the background I first did a thin layer of gesso over my white cardstock and lightly dried it with my heatgun.
Next I took a light coloured gelato stick and scribbled vertical lines over the page then spritzed it with water so the gelato softened.
The rest of the layout was just all about layering.

All products used in my layout are from the D-lish Scraps store, except for pink chevron ribbon which is from Stampin' Up.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  Drop by again soon for another creations.
