Grateful Heart

Hi Everyone.

I finally did my first blind scrap the other weekend with Paige and loved it. I was stoked with my end result.  It was a great way to quickly do a layout given a list of requirements to gather together before hand.  My chosen requirement included a bundle of goodies from the Grateful Heart collection designed by Michelle Grant for Colour Blast by Bee Arty.  This was the first time I have created with the range and am looking forward to more play time soon.

If you want to do Paige's blind scrap you can find it on the Bee Arty Creative Hive on Facebook.  There you will find the list of items you need and the video to go with it.

I started with the HOPE patterned paper from the collection and then trimmed down a piece of white cardstock to mount on to it leaving the dark border.

It used the leaves from the A4 Party Lights stencil and the Leather and Bling Colour Pastes to add leaves to the lower right horizontal and vertical areas applying both colours over the stencil at the same time. Using the same colours in the Shimmer Sprays (only a few colours now available) and added some 'splotches' over the page up and along the dried Colour Paste.

I created a layered mat background for my photo using the 'b' side of the Together patterned paper and also cut out the doily from the 'a' side of the Heart patterned paper.

Using the Heartfelt stamp and a matching brown ink pad I stamped the heart along the same lines as the stencilling and then added just the scroll from the other stamp in the set.

Add the photo cluster on foam tape and then glue down.  This is to ensure it adheres properly over the Colour Pastes. I fussy cut a couple of items from the Blessed Word Sheet and Gathers cut apart sheet

Finish by adding a title from the Blessed Word Sheet, mounted on foam tape, and some of the lace strip under the title from the Gathers cut apart sheet. Lastly using a black pen draw the lines to create your square to tie all the areas together.

 Thanks for stopping by.
Don't forget to drop on by Bee Arty to grab all your scrapping products and when you do don't forget to grab yourself some of the 350GSM White Cardstock.  It is amazing for use with all your mixed media projects.

Until next time.. happy creating

"The Courage to Imagine"

Happy New Year Everyone.

I wanted to start the year off sharing a 'Happy' journal page that I created using the Follow Your Dreams collecton that was designed by Michelle Grant.

I just love the pinks and yellows in this collection.

A couple of the items used in the journal page have sold out however I am sure you will have something similar that you can substitute for them.

I wanted the colours to remain as true in colour as possible so I put a layer of heavy white gesso on the page before colouring the background using "Lollipop" Shimmer Dust and "Citrus" Artist Ink.
I used both the Shimmer Dust and Artist Ink to colour the butterflies that I used on the page.

I added some background texture using the A5 stencil "Rhythm" and A6 stencil "Imagine" to the background and then stamped the Mandela stamp from the "Kind Heart" stamp set in Stazon Black ink.

More of the Shimmer Dust and Artist Inks were added once the die cuts were attached to the page.

Thanks for stopping by.
Let's hope 2021 is much better for all of us.

Keep creating.

"Christmas Festival Card Set" with Mintay Papers

 Hi Everyone

I love teaching card classes at my local store and one of my favourite ranges to create with for my classes is Mintay.  Everyone knows me for my fussy cutting so their fussy cutting sheets are perfect.

Using the Fall Festival paper range I created a card set of Christmas Cards.

It was so nice to create a set of cards that didn't use traditional Christmas colours of Red and Green.
The burgundy teamed together with white, beautiful cafe latte colours and gold made this one a very popular kit. And even more so I had such a great time creating the cards.

The cards were created using the 12x12 paper pack (only used 1 set of the papers with spares) and the fussy cutting cut apart sheet.  It was teamed with gorgeous gold mirror board from Couture Creations and 'Juneberry' coloured cardstock from Bazzill.  The gorgeous die cuts were the small mistletoe die from Paper Rose and the Christmas sentiment dies are from Creative Expressions.

Other kit inclusions were the flowers and white seam binding which was coloured with a matching ink for a couple of the cards.

 Thanks for stopping by.

Enjoy whatever you create.
