Smile

Hi Guys,

Oh my gosh, I can't believe 2015 is nearly done and dusted.  Where has the time gone.  I can't believe the next time I will be blogging it will be 2016.

Today I have another creation using the beautiful papers from the Vintage Rose collection.  I always find myself going back to these beautiful papers over and over again.

1. To create the card base I cut a 7"x 8" piece of white cardstock and then folded it in half vertically to make a 7" long x 4" wide card base.
2. I then chose the Green Typo paper from the paper pad and cut a 6 3/4" x 3 3/4" piece to mat on the card base.

3. I also selected the Rouge Stripes paper from the paper pad to die cut my leaves and flowers on the reverse side of the paper (the paler print). I then used the Roses & Butterflies paper
and cut out the border strip.
4. I then used the reverse of the Green Typo paper to also die cut more floral layers.

5. I inked the edges of the card base and the Vintage Rose mat in a coordinating green ink to soften the edges.
6. Using the Turbo Precision Glue Pen I attached the mat to the card base and then after cutting to size also glued down the boarder strip.
7. Each of my three flowers uses two of each of the dies sets to get the fullness in each of the flowers.

8.  Once the flowers have been constructed I just put everything together.  Once I had placed the leaves down I grabbed some gauze to put under the flowers to give another dimension.
9. I had the 6x6" paper pad and cut out on of the sentiments from the Green Words paper and punched it out before mounting it on an off-cut from the the Green Typo paper. This was tucked in slightly behind the flowers.
10. I hate fussy cutting but I have to say they always add to what you are creating so I cut out a couple of flowers from the Roses & Butterflies paper and I popped them in under the 3D flowers.
11. A couple of gemstones and pearls to the middle of the flowers and it's done :)

Below are a couple of close ups of the card.

Wishing all of your a wonderful and safe Christmas and
a fantastic start to 2016.
See you on the flip side.

You Are Amazing

Hi Everyone,

Below is a recent post I did for the Couture Creations Blog. I decided to use one of my favourite summer colour combinations.  To me they are happy colours and I love using them.

1. I started with a 6"x6" white card base.  I gathered up a selection of dies from the Floral Layers, Background Savy, Everyday Essentials, Amaryllis, Nesting and Vintage Rose collections.

 2. Using the larger circle from the nesting dies, cut out the centre of the front of the white card base. I then attached the Fans of Fantasia die cut to the inside of the white card front behind the circle cut out.  To conceal the die cut on the inside of the card I covered it with a sheet of white cardstock.

3. The four corners that I cut out using the Laced Frame die set, were attached to the corners of the front of the card.  The rest of my dies cuts were then arranged where I liked them, layering them on top of each other.

4. I cut down the Classic Vine die in to smaller pieces to stuck in under the leaves and flowers.

5. I used the 2mm gemstones on the Fans of Fantasia die and the larger gemstones on the centre of the flowers.  I didn't have any matching pink gemstones so I used the clear Crystal ones and used a Sharpie pen to colour them.

6. I added a chipboard title and it was complete.

Below is a of closeup of the card.

Enjoy the Moment

Hi Everyone

So glad you dropped by.  It is nice when I get to do some craft just for me.  This layout I created recently at retreat using a 'Just add Paper' kit from D-Lish Scraps.  These are monthly kits and to show how far I am behind this one is from June of this year.  I love the colour combination of black yellow and whites and the picture just fits beautifully with the kit.

I loved the way Amanda puts the kit together, so much so I didn't even want to unravel the twine because it was beautifully put together.

The layout was created for one of the challenges on retreat.  It was to complete a 'summer' themed layout using a minimum of four printed papers (range from Authentique called Classic Beauty), paint, no flowers, and twine.
This Authentique range is an older range but all their ranges are beautiful and you will always see them featured in my pages.

Here are a couple of close up photos that I took.

Thanks for stopping by.  You can also see some of my other work on the Couture Creations blog and Facebook pages.

Enjoy your day and your crafting.
