Happy ANZAC Day

I hope everyone is having a wonderful ANZAC Day.  Well for those Aussie and Kiwis amongst us.

I thought I would share with you my latest off the page creation that I did only a weekend ago at our latest scrapbooking retreat at Minden, south east Queensland.  After finishing it I realised that the colour pretty much matched perfectly to my 1st 'finnabair' canvas.
The photo was taken at the retreat and at the 'challenge' table, hence the number 9 sticker on the journal.

Thanks for stopping by.
Til next time, Anita

1st 'Finnabair' Inspired Mixed Media piece

So, our lovely friend Tracey Cooley set this as a challenge for us at our November 2014 retreat.  We had to use techniques like those found in beautiful mixed media creations of Finnabair, but could do what ever we wanted.  This is how mine turned out.

And a few closeups...

Our April retreat is just a few days away and I am thinking I would love to try my hand at another one. Will wait and see what I end up doing.

Thanks for stopping by,
Anita

I hope everyone had a great Easter, and hopefully a very productive one.  I got some time to create for the DT that I am on, but I still do have a card that I would like to share for you.  I made this for a friend that was celebrating her 25th wedding anniversary.  Very simple but I love the colour combinations.  All products can be found in the Stampin' Up latest occasions catalogue.

Thanks for stopping by.
until next time

You are Loved

Welcome back Everyone,
I have to say that I enjoy all types of papercraft, but will always come back to a good scrapbooking layout to showcase some of my more favourite photos.

Todays post moves away from the pinks and greens of the Vintage Rose collection, focusing more on the red and yellow hues to take it in a different direction.

To start the page I selected a red from Coredinations Vintage Collection stack as it matched perfectly with the Couture Creations Vintage Rose paper collection.
I selected the Plaid and Music print from the Vintage Rose papers and cut it down to approximately 8x12". Using the sanding block I lightly sanded the four sides of the cardstock. I then took my 'non stick' scissors and distressed the edges of both the cardstock and patterned paper.  I was a little more rough on the patterned paper slightly tearing in some places to show more of the cardstock underneath.

I then grabbed my 6x6" stack of Vintage Rose papers and selected my contrasting papers for the rest of my layout.  I used the smaller frame from the Amarllyis Ornamental Lace die collection set Megan's Magic, die cut one of the print paper and then cut the piece into four equal pieces.

After inking around the photo with a red brick coloured ink, attach the four pieces of die cut patterned paper to the reverse of your photo with some 6mm double sided tape.

Prior to attaching the 8x12" patterned piece to the cardstock base I added a small piece of tea stained gauze to the back side of the top and bottom edges of the patterned paper. After attaching the patterned paper to the cardstock I then edged top and bottom edges of the patterned paper with a matching lace trim softening the lines.
From the Pink Words sheet of patterened paper I cut out my wording, and from the same sheet of the 6x6" paper stack I cut out the live, smile, love and laugh words, adding 3D foam dots to the back of all wording.
More fussy cutting of flowers and butterflies from the Smile paper and one of the postage stamps from the Carte Postale paper. I inked, in the same red brick ink as the photo, all the wording I have just cut out. I then added just a small amount of bling on the cardstock.

I took the 6x6" patterned papers that I had selected and cut them into different shapes, again inking all the edges. I attached 3D foam dots to the back of the photo. Prior to attaching the photo, I positioned the different shapes on to the layout. Attaching the fussy cut flowers, stamp and butterflies to the layout and adding a few flowers to the bottom left corner.
The layout was finished off with a flair button and some twine twisted around the page and through the small words after placing them on the layout.

Thanks for stopping by.... til next time.

Kaisercraft Design Team 2015 Entry

I have to say that I truly love using Kaisercraft products, so that is why I thought, let's just do this.
My creative time is extremely important to me and I so enjoyed creating these three projects.

I chose the Chalkboard MDF kit, and thought that maybe rather than using it as a chalkboard it could be used as a place to display photos too, easily being able to rotate the photos to a current one.  I am still toiling with ideas of how to do this.
I wanted to keep the paper design very minimal so chose the Tranquil paper from the Cherry Blossom range and then just embellished with flowers and MDF shapes.

As I do not have any of the 2 legged variety of children, my furkids are my world (aside from my family of course).  I love taking photos of my two babies and scrapping them, so when Kaisercraft realeased the beautiful range of Furry Friends pet papers,  I was in love, and couldn't wait to get hold of everything.

My final project was a card using the All That Glitters range, also using a 6x4" card from the 'Sparkle' Captured Moments range.  At the moment I love the use of gold in my layouts, so was ecstatic to be able to find papers that would fill this need.  As my nieces 12th birthday is just around the corner I thought she would love this different take on a birthday card.

Thanks for stopping by, and thanks for considering my application..... fingers crossed :)

Until next time,
Anita

Flower Garden

Hi Everyone,
Welcome to my very first post for the 2015 Couture Creations Design Team
In the last year or so I have really gotten into making cards and love giving my friends and family my handmade creations.  On this card I have decided to leave off a sentiment as it will give me the opportunity later to add something if I feel it needs it, rather than restricting the use for a specific celebration.... but thinking maybe for Mother's Day.

To start my card I created a 5"x7" base card from some olive green
Coredinations cardstock.
From the Vintage Rose 12 x 12 Paper Pack I chose the Roses and Butterflies paper to cut a mat slightly smaller than your 5x7" base card.
I then die cut the patterned paper using the Barossa Frame from the Elegant Card Cuts collection. I never forget to use my Quick Release Die Paper which helps release the die cut easily from the die. Because this die was a little bit more intricut I also made sure to use my Metal Adapter Mat which gave a crisper cut.

To give the die cut paper another dimension I embossed the paper with the  Garden Frame
  from the Hearts Ease collection.

From the Kalini collection of dies I then die cut four of the Tall Basket Flowers. I spent some time fussy cutting a couple of butterflies which I then blinged up using some Glitz and Glamour.

To achieve the look of depth to the card I mounted the patterned paper frame on foam mounting tape. Once positioned I tucked some gathered organza ribbon underneath the top and bottom of the frame. I secured two of the basket flower die cuts to the top right and bottom left of the frame with the Couture Creations Turbo Glue Pen (such an awesome new product).  To finish off I mounted the two butterflies and a medium sized flower that I inked the edges of with an olive ink.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
